This photo was taken from Buzzard's Roost, a well known hiking trail in the Black Hills, SD. This view looks to the west, over the canyons and hills near Hwy 44. A storm was just moving in as I was hiking to this spot, but it made for some beautiful photo opportunities.

Vision
Originality Technique ImpactYour decision to go black and white with this was PERFECT. Its very Ansel Adams. I love how the fog/clouds are just low enough to add a hint of moodiness that fits so well with being "alone in the woods" but not low enough to obstruct your view. This photo is framed very well, my eyes keep moving along the image just trying to soak in the glorious detail of the black hills. Lots of depth, its amazing how much can be caught in a black and white photograph and you've done it very well.
